Father's Day

Hi everyone,
Today some words about FATHERHOOD.
Few days ago, in Poland, we were celebrating Father's Day- 23 of June. This international holiday, in most of cases, falls in second or third  sunday of june, since 1965 (for Poland).
The date and idea of feast have been set by  a Sonory Smart Dodd, daughter of civil war veteran - Wiliam Smart, in 1910 of june. She came up with the idea to comemorate honor and respect for her father, specially that he raised alone her and her five younger sibling after death of their mother.
She proposed 5 of june (her father's birthday) but the city council chose third sunday of june.
In 1966 president Lyndon B. Johnson officially established Father's Day as a national holiday.

Despite the relatively long history, Father's Day does not enjoy such great popularity as Mother's Day, which doesn't change that it's a very good opportunity to express gratitude and respect for ours dads. We should realize that we have a crisis of fatherhood now, which makes role of father more important than anytime.

All of You, who still have fathers alive, tell them that you love them as well as your mothers  because some people don't have this beautiful chance anymore.
Thank you dad.
