Camerimage

Hi All,
I must confess that I failed because I am late with posting about CAMERIMAGE.

Two weeks ago I wanted to encourage and invite you to visit Bydgoszcz to participate in CAMERIMAGE which is organised normally in the second part of november.

For those who didn't heard about it yet I can write in a nutshell that it's The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography.

The intention is to appreciate cinematographers who are also the artists like painters or singers because they contribute to the success of the film like actors or stage-manager.

This year it was 22nd edition and we were honoured to host cinematographers, actors and directors of different countries who were rewarded with prices in competitions categories like Main competition, Student competition and others..

I strongly encourage you to visit the Link  of the website of this festival.

This is a great opportunity to watch at little cost a good, non commercial cinema in more than one location (Opera Nova and Multikino).

Highly, recommended.
More, you have a chance to participate in discussion with actors, cinematographers and ask questions, debates like in discussion club.
By the way you can visit our city if you want. But remember, it will be better to book tickets a month earlier at least because they are as fresh buns.

Halloween VS 1st november

1st of November we were celebrating a Day of All Saints in Christian countries. In Poland, it's the one of the religious feasts and at the same time day off. This christian tradition require the believers to go to the cemetery to visit all their loved ones in order to pray for them. This is a great occasion to organize family reunions, to chat together with those who we don't see so often. On the other hand, it's also a lucrative occasion for traders of flowers and candles.  Some people complain that at November cemetery looks like this:

and by the rest of the year like that:

Is there a grain of truth?

In opposition to this holiday we have Halloween  which is not accepted by the Church. 31 of October people, young and little bit older, disguise as scary creatures using costumes, wandering around from house to house and asking for candies. This Celtic tradition is celebrate in the USA, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain. After Christmas it's the most popular holiday which appeared in Poland since 90s.

How do you think, are those two feasts, All Saint's and Halloween, are they exclusive mutually?
My reflections after this time are that I don' t know actually how to refer to this topic.
Which one do you celebrate?

What's your position?
What's your opinion?

MISS U MY sparkle

Hi there,
Maybe my post will seem for some slightly childish but I must write this and sum my feelings, in order to stay  with clear mind.
Well.. There are many, many coats and many races and characters, but I miss just one, my shiny shaggy friend.

Last week we put our doggy to sleep because of his illness, and old age,  but we felt like we killed him.
I am wondering if it was really necessary (can we compare to put the dog to sleep to euthanasia?).
I am curious if dogs have souls and I don't know if I was so kind and devoted to him as he was to me.

Now I know that it's too late, but if I could I would be for him more sensitive, more devoted, would spend more time with him and giving him more my attention during my crazy busy life.
Was I doting? Yes, but not every time while he was always so loyal.

People forget about theirs puppy's in their daily routine. They become some kind of consoling toys  when we have worse day and when it's a good one we take them for a walk. This is often the end.
I hope that some of us are aware of this aspect. Dogs need our attention and love every time, every day, like growing kids.
There is the saying "You don't know what you've got until it's gone." We realize, appreciate, love and miss  more when someone is gone.

I can't stop thinking that he was always the best and that I can't prolong him his live, even if I found it  stupid sometimes but which is natural impulse I think.
People says "Come on, it's just a dog", but nobody will understand me better than someone who was attached to an animal.
He was a part of my family during ten years- my high school, through my studies till know, when I already work.

He was so visible and happy, marking his presence with his size XXL that now, when he's gone I can't sleep because of too much empty space and silence, specially at night.
He was next to my door where I sleep and I heard him barking while he was dreaming, or changing the place to another. I even have been dreamed about him.
For those who don't, wont, or can't believe I will write that dogs can be a friend, like a human.

And he was my guard, my sugar and warm quilt.
I loved him very much, I still miss him and I will think about him for a long time I feel so.
For now, If you have an animal, try to be for them like they are for you, more emotional, affecionate  and selfless.

Women Health

Litwo! Ojczyzno moja! ty jesteś jak zdrowie; Ile cię trzeba cenić, ten tylko się dowie, Kto cię stracił. [Adam Mickiewicz]

O Lithuania, my country, thou Art like good health; I never knew till now How precious, till I lost thee. [Trans. K. R. McKenzie]

By this short but how wise introduction I would like to  tell You how much important and how much neglect the health is.
In the specific way I am talking here about women health by what I mean all diseases combined with. All gynecological diseases, in half treatable, which do not have to finish tragically.

I post about it because from what I hear and statistically too, many women still do not exam themselves!
Or, they do this too rarely... Why?

Ones says that from the shame, because for many it's still a taboo or from lack of consciousness. Other reasons?
...

I am begging all of you, please take medical examination at gynecologist, do cytology, ultrasound examination (USG in polish)and exam your breast too, which are the most common organ malignant neoplasm among women.

You must know that effectiveness of treatment in these types of diseases in first phase is 90%, in second phase 70%! So do not wait please till something bad happen and cause suffering to all your closes and to your family.

Please, visit the doctor and avoid cancer of ovary or uterus, or other diseases and complications.
You are not alone with these problems, there is a long list of people who can help you to keep you in good health. Let's start from yourself  and do not postpone before it's too late.
Self-exam and taking care- after do that you can say that you do all the best for yourself.
How often do you do self-exam?

Pink ribbon- international symbol of the fight against breast cancer, used by individuals, companies and organizations.
Mean also support and help for all women with gynecological diseases or complications.

Kitchen revolutions- my holiday pastries part 1

Hi!
Summer time is full off free time, which we can benefit for cooking or baking, and also in treasury of vegetables and fruits. In order to profit them I've baked a

                                                                    Le francais clafoutis

with cherries from my garden :)

Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:

     2 heaped tablespoons of flour
4 tablespoons of icing sugar to sprinkle +  at the end if You want
     2 pinches of salt
     3 eggs
25g of soft butter to grease the mold
2 glasses of warm milk (not hot, it has to be lukewarm)
     500g of cherries

Preparation:
Preheat the oven at 180 ° C.

Mix the flour with salt, sugar, eggs and butter. Add milk and stir until You get a smooth, fluid mass.

Lubricate abundant the form for our clafoutis. At the bottom of the cake tin lay the cherries and pour the mass.

Put into oven and bake for about 50 minutes. After removing the cake from the oven, it will be a gelatinous and wet from the juice of the fruits. After Cooling down it will be solidified. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve (I did it already before put all to the oven ;)).
It is a simple and very tasty dessert.
Yummy!

HOLIDAYS TIME

Hi there!
You must be occupied by your vacations and
I hope that You enjoy them to the maximum as
I was trying  to do during my holiday leave.

I will share with You, in order to stay in touch with english of course (the more You practice the easier You communicate), as suggested by our teacher, a series of posts off my holidays, which I actually have been finished, but I still have 3 days left of my summer time.
HOWEVER, I will have another one in the end of august. (yeah!)

Those who work knows that return to work is highly difficult which otherwise is called the return to reality. That's how I feel today- I feel lazy...
Nevertheless, I spent a week at the Baltic Sea with my boyfriend and so I want to past here some photos, especially our collection - gallery of beach art works - castles, sculptures, cakes of sand, fortresses and others...

Please, enjoy :)
